NYC Vacation: Day 2

We slept in a little later the second day. I wanted to get into the city by noon so that I could try for lottery tickets for the matinee show of Wicked that day. Unfortunately, our train stopped for some unknown reason on the way to the city, so we didn't make it in time. Instead, we went first to Central Park. Again, there were just crowds and crowds of people. We walked around a little bit, and then we convinced my mom and my aunt to go on one of the bike tours that we did when we were there last time. Central Park is so big and it's hard to see everything just walking.

Train Day 2.

In front of Central Park South.

Central Park.

I guess the people who took this pic didn't want to tell us that half of us were in the shade ...

I look ridiculous, but this is on Columbus Circle.

After Central Park we took the Subway to Little Italy! I've never been there before. I knew a friend that had lived in NYC for a few year so I asked her for a good place to go. We ended up going to Lombardi's, which was the first pizza place in the whole United States. The food was really good and I loved like the historical feeling of the place.

I liked that wall :) and the SMILE part.

Then we headed back to the Gershwin to try for lottery tickets again but it was a no go. I was totally okay with not winning, actually, it made me even more thankful for winning the last time I came to NYC because it is honestly so lucky if you do. I think there were probably 200+ people there and only 13 people win. I decided though that I wanted to still go because I didn't want to pass up the chance to see Katie Rose Clarke again and also they had lower ticket prices since it was right before the show. I ended up getting 10th row seats and they were honestly perfect! For a full review of the show, I did another entry and you can find it HERE!

Oh yes, I forgot. After we sign in for lottery tickets, you wait for a half hour until the drawing. While we waited, there was a Coke truck parked on 50th Street that was giving out free Cokes to anyone who would do a dance. It was hilarious and very entertaining. My mom, aunt, and I did a kick line, but Donaldo didn't want to dance hah.

After the show was over, it was really late so we went back to the hotel. For some reason, none of us could fall asleep until like 2am which was NOT good because the next day we needed to get a really early start.
