February Goals and Update

Time flies so fast, it is just amazing. In 6 short hours the month of January will be over. I did pretty good on my January goals. I totally organized and re-did my desk area, started weekly grocery shopping for lunches for work, and I have a gym schedule in the works starting immediately.

I started my Bachelor's classes on Wednesday. I'm really excited about it! It's going to take quite awhile - since I'm working full time throughout the program I'm only taking 2 classes a semester and some in the summer. I was pretty overwhelmed when I saw the syllabus, but going to the first class made me feel better and my instructor is really nice.

More exciting news -- D and I went to the bank yesterday and we are approved for a home loan so we can start house hunting officially!! I had a price range in mind that I was hoping to be approved for and we were approved for that and more!! So if we happen to find something that we want that's a little more than what we planned, we will still be okay. My friend from high school is a real estate agent and is going to work with us. We are hoping to find something and buy by summer! We are very excited.

February Goals

1. Lose at least 5 pounds this month (see below).

2. Find a bathing suit for our cruise in March without waiting until the last minute.

3. Get all of my BSN papers, assignments, and presentations done on time.

Goals & Word for 2015

I am going to break my goals for the year down into months, however, there are just a few that I will be working at for the entire year. I am very happy to say that I accomplished all of my yearly goals for 2014 which were: graduate nursing school, pass the NCLEX, and get a job as an RN :)

1. Daily bible study/readings
2. Become a homeowner
3. Personal

January Goals

1. Get my entire desk area, mail, and papers organized before classes begin on 1/28.

2. Designate a day of the week to prepare lunches for work all week.

3. Plan a schedule to get back to going to the gym 3 days a week.

Word for 2015

'Faith' may seem like a very cliche word, and it is definitely nowhere near as detailed as words I have chosen in the past, but I chose it because it is something that I struggle with and I really want to work on in 2015.

Faith in God and in my religion is not my issue, but I struggle sometimes having faith in God's plan for me and His timing. I know in my heart that I am living God's plan for me, and that His timing is perfect, but I still find myself with everyday doubts and fears about events and challenges that are going on in my life. In 2015 I want to learn to let go and let God, to be able to fully and completely trust in His plan and timing for me and my life, no matter what struggles and challenges may be placed before me.

Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year everyone!!

I hope that you all have a happy and blessed 2015!

I had my LEEP procedure on NYE and it went well, I am very grateful for all the support and prayers I've received from my family and friends. I got IV sedation and it was completely awesome. I got put on the bed in the OR and the next thing I knew I was waking up back in my pre-op room. Also, other than some bad cramps for the first few hours after, I'm back to normal now ...

With one exception. Tuesday night my neck started bothering me. It felt like I had maybe strained a muscle or something and it hurt when I'd take a deep breath, cough, and certain times when I swallowed. It got progressively worse over the last 3 days and today I decided to go in. There is a big swollen spot at the bottom of my neck and I thought it might be my thyroid ... and what do you know, I was right. My doctor said he thinks it's a thyroid nodule -- which can be either malignant or benign. MOST are benign, especially when they're painful, which mine is. The nodule is most likely on a nerve, which is causing all the pain I am having. I am scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday and I had labs drawn today to check my thyroid function to see if I might have either hyper or hypo thyroidism that I never knew about. I am praying that it can be easily taken care of and hopefully is not malignant. When it rains it always pours with my health so hopefully this will be my last issue for awhile.

I usually do yearly goals, however, I think it would be more suitable for this year if I break them down into monthly goals. The ONLY goal that I have that will apply to all year is that I have started a 365 day bible study plan. I have said for quite awhile that I want to make more time for the Bible and reading and understanding God's word, but I've never done it continuously. I found a 365 day study plan with about 3 readings per day and also found a really great study method on Pinterest that I love. I've done it both today and yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm also doing a shorter reading Bible in One Year app on my phone.

I will make another post with my January goals soon!
Hope you all had a wonderful NYE and New Years!
God Bless!
