100 Day Challenge - Day 30

A picture of your favorite quote.
This is SO IMPOSSIBLE. I love so many quotes, I can't choose just one.
This could very well be my #1. It means so so so much for me for reasons that no one (with the exception of Bianca) could ever understand. It's so so special to me.

Probably one of my favorite bible verses ever<3

Wish people would just live by this, it's so annoying when people are fake.

I love love love this<3

Fall 2011 Television Schedule

I saw this on Corie's and since I'm obsessed with TV, I thought I'd do one of my own :)

Monday
The Sing-Off : NBC.
Love, love, love this show. Such amazing talent!

Hart of Dixie : The CW.
Oh my gosh seriously just let's start with two words. RACHEL. BILSON. I have missed her so much since the O.C. and obviously I'd watch any series she is a part of but this also looks like a fabulous show!

Tuesday
Glee : FOX.
Obviously one of my favorite shows in the entire world. Cannot contain my excitement that Idina will be back this season and Beth possibly brought into the story lines.

The Biggest Loser : NBC
Jillian's absence is definitely felt, but I like the new trainers so far this season. Always will love this show.

Parenthood : NBC
Season 3 is already starting out super amazingly! Love the cast and story lines and comedy of this show.

Wednesday
Survivor South Pacific : CBS
Another wonderful season of Survivor .. hope this show never ends.

The X Factor : FOX
Didn't really plan on watching this show but caught the premiere and really liked it! I love Paula<3

Revenge : ABC
AAAAHHHH!!!!! This was my show I was most excited about and it lived up to my expectations! Emily VanCamp is super amazing in it and I've adored her forever! The rest of the cast is intriguing too, even though the plot hasn't developed too much yet! I can tell it's going to get better and better, though!

Thursday
Charlie's Angels : ABC
Am actually behind, need to watch the premiere online still but I bet it's gonna be good!

My First Book Review!

I never really thought about doing a book review on my blog, until I finished this book a few days ago. It is unlike any other book I've ever read before. It is a devastating story, but at the same time it is a story that needed to be told. I'd recommend it to anyone, and believe it deserves a full review.

This is a summary of the book I found on a website. It is written from 2 points of view and it was hard for me to think of my own summary, so I borrowed this one, and my comments will follow.

Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten year-old girl, is brutally arrested with her family by the French police in the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup, but not before she locks her younger brother in a cupboard in the family's apartment, thinking that she will be back within a few hours.
Paris, May 2002: On Vel' d'Hiv's 60th anniversary, journalist Julia Jarmond is asked to write an article about this black day in France's past. Through her contemporary investigation, she stumbles onto a trail of long-hidden family secrets that connect her to Sarah. Julia finds herself compelled to retrace the girl's ordeal, from that terrible term in the Vel d'Hiv', to the camps, and beyond. As she probes into Sarah's past, she begins to question her own place in France, and to reevaluate her marriage and her life.
Tatiana de Rosnay offers us a brilliantly subtle, compelling portrait of France under occupation and reveals the taboos and silence that surround this painful episode.

My comments without giving too much of it away :
- The author wastes no time pulling you in. The story literally begins with the police knocking on the door of the apartment that Sarah and her family live in. I was into the story instantly.
- The present day point of view can seem confusing at first. I kept thinking that I didn't understand all the details that were being given and why. Everything will eventually make sense and come together.
- If you've ever wondered what the Holocaust was like, you will find out when you read this book. The descriptions were horrific and while it was hard to read, it does ensure that you will never forget any of it .. which I believe was a point of the author writing the book in the first place.
- The two people who end up helping Sarah warmed my heart. It was so relieving to know that not all people during that time were monsters. They truly were heroes, and the bravest of the brave.
- Lastly, I cannot believe events like this ever took place. It makes me feel so blessed and lucky to be living when I am and where I am. I think it is important though that we all educate ourselves and remember what happened for two reasons : 1) to show respect and reverence for all the millions of lives that were lost and torn apart, and 2) to make sure that something like that never, EVER happens again.

I really hope that you guys read this, if not thanks for reading my entry!

Remebering 9/11

Didn't want to let the day pass without writing something in tribute to all the people who lost their lives 10 years ago today and also to all of their families whose lives were changed forever that day. All of them are in my prayers and it makes me feel even more grateful for all of my blessings.
God bless America<3

100 Day Challenge - Day 21

A picture of something you wish you could forget.

I only regret one guy I ever dated. He was honestly a LOSER and I seriously wish that I could go back in time and never, ever date him. I regret it because I didn't even LEARN anything from dating him because I knew it was stupid and he was a loser the entire time I was in the relationship but I was a stupid 19-year-old so apparently I didn't care and just ignored those facts.

100 Day Challenge - Day 20

I know, I'm completely failing at doing this challenge daily.
A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel.

I need to go back to California, and I want to go to Los Angeles. It's one of those places I just WANT to go to, even though a lot of people have told me it's not anything special. I don't care, I want to go there!

100 Day Challenge - Day 18

A picture of the sexiest woman alive.

Haha okay so I'm not really going to post a photo, because I think this is a stupid category, and that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. I have lots of women that I think shine from the inside out so I will just name them.

Shawn Johnson, Ayla Kell, Elizabeth Mitchell, Sandra Bullock, Emma Watson, Emily VanCamp, Beverley Mitchell, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Katharine McPhee, Jillian Michaels, Alicia Sacramone, Jordyn Weiber, Dianna Agron, Lea Michele, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus.

100 Day Challenge - Day 17

A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

Haha, I know that this seems lame, but work in general has made a big impact on my life this summer. More specifically, my management team. They've given me tons of responsibility and also offered me the chance to advance, which I gladly accepted. My whole outlook on my job has changed in the past year. I have more passion for hard work, learning, and knowledge and I owe it all to them because they are inspiring.

100 Day Challenge - Day 16

A picture of someone who inspires you.

My soulmate inspires me so much. This is a public blog so I can't post a picture of the actual person, but her drive, ambition, faith in God, optimism, and love for life all inspire me to be the best person I can be, to live every day to the fullest, to be thankful for all the blessings in my life, and to always go for my dreams. I feel so lucky and blessed that God brought her into my life.

100 Day Photo Challenge - Day 15

A picture of something you want to do before you die.
I want to change someone's life. I know that by being on this Earth, we will all affect someone's life in one way or the other but I honestly really want to CHANGE someone's life in a big, positive way, the way that a few people in my life have changed mine.
