Five on Friday

This Five on Friday may actually fool people into thinking I have a life outside of school.
Don't believe it.

1. Love of my life is singing at the Academy Awards Sunday!
I honestly still like cannot believe this. I have loved Idina for years and years and years and I am just so proud of EVERYTHING in her career and so happy that she is finally getting recognition for her work on a bigger stage. She deserves it so much and I cannot wait to see her light up the stage with her singing. I also am excited for the show in general!! I love love award shows and I can't wait!

2. Elite gymnastics kicks off the 2014 season tomorrow!
I'm very super excited of course!! Unfortunately I have clinical tomorrow for 12 wonderful hours so I will not see it live, but I've watched all the PT so far this week and it's been totally amazing. I will miss Simone and Kyla but Ebee and Brenna are totally going to represent :) I can't wait to come home tomorrow and watch it and freakout with all of my gymnastics besties on Twitter.

3. Lea Michele's album comes out Tuesday!
I'm dying for it and I don't know if I can wait any longer!! I've been listening to all of her Glee songs over the last few days and I'm just so excited. I bought it off of her website merchandise store, so I'm also getting an autographed booklet with mine -- LOVE IT, LOVE HER.

4. Blessed x a million.
I have the most amazing preceptor in the entire world. I had to go to a skills day today so I wasn't on the floor. I messaged her to remind her to remind my manager if she wondered where I was and she sent me this back. She is the most amazing nurse ever and I am so blessed to have her teaching me and working with me. I know she is going to help me become the best nurse I can be.<3

5. T minus 7 days and counting ...
I've never wanted a Spring Break to be here so badly in my life. Not that it will even be a true break since I have like a presentation to work on and a service learning project to do, as well as a short paper for Transitions plus studying for the two exams I take the week after. It will just be SO NICE to be able to like BREATHE and do mindless things like watch TV. I seriously can't wait and I'm trying to focus!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Still Alive ...

Yeah ... basically.

Just wanted to update anyone who was interested on my life, aka school.

I am actually doing pretty great right now.

CHA 2 -- Test average 87.5% Overall 90%
Management -- Test average 90% Overall 93.6%
Clinical -- 95%

I am definitely putting in the work though. Other than working on Fridays, every single hour, minute, and second of my time is dedicated to studying, classes, and school work. Sunday I worked on my CET for 7 hours and then jumped right into a case study/powerpoint I have to present on Saturday. I'm super nervous about it because I don't like talking in front of people, but I actually got the entire thing almost done last night, so I feel better about having time to go over it before hand. I cannot believe I will be graduating so soon if everything continues to go well.

Work is still going amazing. I got to help with my first delivery last week and I did my first cervical dilation check! (Sorry if I grossed anyone out with that, but its exciting for me!)

Hope everyone else is doing amazing.
T minus 12 days until Spring Break!!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had amazing weekends!
🎶

Today's quote is actually song lyrics. I discovered this song last week and honestly I got GOOSEBUMPS while listening to it because it reminded me so much of my friends and I and our journeys throughout nursing school, most especially this last horrendous semester. Each of the 6 of us have definitely had our "freak out" moments, and this song just spoke to me so much and reminded me that it is one day at a time, and God will get us through no matter what!

How many storms have I been through? How many led me right to You? You’re using the pain, the hardest days for my good. So what do I fear? God, You are with me guiding my steps today through the mountains, valleys, sun and rain, Lord, lead the way.
I will follow, I will press on even when the walk feels long. Your hands hold me together, Your love is with me forever. Through the broken, through the victory, I will praise You through it all and run hard ‘til the race is done I’m gonna press on.

One step in front of the other. No looking back, no looking back
One step in front of the other. I’m gonna press on. -- Mandisa

Five On Friday

Wow, I can't remember the last time I did one of these!!

1. Nursing school domination.
I got a 58/60 (96%) on my CHA 2 exam on Neuro this week!! I was so excited, that brings my grade up even more and I'm now passing strongly, I just need to get 80's and above from here on our and I'm golden. I was sort of freaking out about my 2 management exams yesterday because with the way my week is, I don't get to really start looking at management until Wednesday night (class is Thursday night). But I studied all Wednesday night until class at 4:40 on Thursday and I got a 90% and a 94% on those exams! I'm not for sure on the grades yet because she does short answers and such which need manual grading but given that I got those right those are my scores, roughly. SO EXCITED!

2. March 18th!
March 18th is when this amazingness will be mine :) I cannot wait!!! Frozen is hands down my favorite Disney movie ever! I love the story and more importantly the MUSIC and IDINA AND KRISTEN AND JONATHAN, like it's just really too much for me! I am still trying to see if I can find time to go to the sing-along version in the theaters ... which would be my 3rd time seeing it. The Blu ray is pre-ordered, making it my first Disney Blu ray ever!!!

3. Now playing ...
Bought this album awhile ago and I had more new albums (Britney, Frozen soundtrack) that I was listening to constantly so I didn't get to hear it until I started listening to it this week and OHH EM GEE it will not leave my car for the rest of the semester --- I love it!

4. Happy Birthday Elise!
Yesterday was Elise Ray's birthday. Elise is one of my favorite gymnasts that I have followed since 2000. I made her a gift this year and sent it to her a little early, and she emailed me saying that she got it and that she loved it! Elise is one of my biggest inspirations ever, I can always think of her and her strength and determination and it inspires me to do the same with whatever I am going through.

5. Beautiful Sunset
If only it wasn't winter. This winter has been the worst in a long time. It snows like 75% of the days. If it's not snowing, it is legit single digits. I am not exaggerating either. I swear!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Motivational Monday

Another Monday is here!
I thought this was funny ...
I can't believe I'm going into my 4th week of the semester already. It is amazing (but scary) that I only have 6 more weeks between me and graduation if I can keep it together and pass my theory classes. It has been INCREDIBLY more stressful than any other semester. Layout of my schedule:

Sun, Mon, Tues: Studying all day
Wed: CHA 2 (exam every week) & more studying.
Thur: Management (exam every week; 2 this week)
Fri: Work 7-4 and more studying.
Sat: Clinical 7:00am-7:30pm

I need every free second I can get for more studying. I got an 88 on my CHA exam this week, so that brought me up to a safe total percentage, as long as I don't fail anymore tests. Management I have an 88 test average in as well for now, but we've only had one test and have TWO this week. Honestly this is my life, there is nothing new and exciting otherwise except that I still LOVE LOVE LOVE my job!!! I have a mandatory meeting at school this Friday so I am not going back until the 14th and I am SO bummed about it. I never want to leave when it's time to go home! That's how I know it's what I want to do for the rest of my life! This week's quote:

Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Last week's goals
Pass my CHA 2 test.
Keep up with my Management units even though we don't have a test this week.
Work on my presentation for CHA 2 for next week with Tessa and finish it.
Try and start on the paper that accompanies it if there is time.

This week's goals
Pass my CHA 2 test.
Pass my Management tests on Legal Issues and Delegation.
Finish my paper to accompany our CHA 2 presentation.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful week!
I am sorry if I haven't commented in awhile, as soon as this is over I will be better.
