New & Exciting Happenings

Random new & exciting things going on in my life:

I gave insulin at clinical yesterday for the first time!!

I've never done an injection before, and to just get the apprehension over with and finally do it was a great feeling and it was nowhere near as hard as I imagined. Yesterday was also the first day of clinical this semester where I feel like I didn't screw anything up. It's been super intense so far this semester and to just get done with a day and feel like I did well was the best feeling ever.

Also school related, on Saturday I tutored a group of first semester students!

The teacher I had last semester that I adored so much asked me if I would tutor some of her first semester Pharm students. I honestly thought that I was nowhere near qualified enough to do such a thing, however, the session lasted 3 hours and I actually did feel like I knew what I was talking about and that I was teaching them! They also said that it helped them so much and asked if I'd be doing it for the rest of the semester .. I don't know about that, but it was a great experience and I was so happy to be able to give something back to the teacher who gave so much to me.

I have approximately 5 shifts left at Olive Garden, and only 3 closes, thank goodness. Closing the kitchen is legit killing my back, and I didn't want to say anything and seem like a baby but the other girl who closes it during the week (I do the weekends) just said on her FB last night that she is having back pain and nerve pain too, so obviously I'm not the only one. My stress level is also going to decrease so much just having more time for school and not dealing with the things there that make me SO irritated.

ALY RAISMAN IS GOING TO BE ON DANCING WITH THE STARS!!

I'm so so super excited, and it's supposedly officially announced that she is going to be with Mark!! Him and Shawn together were my FAVORITE and I just know that I am going to looove the two of them together. Kellie Pickler is also going to be on, supposedly with Derek! I cannot WAIT.

Saturday is coming so soon and I CANNOT WAIT

I get to watch my baby Kyla in the American Cup, the first gymnastics meet of the year! I'm also super excited to see Victoria Moors and Elisabeth Seitz. 2 gymnasts are still unannounced (someone tell me how this is possible when the meet is THIS SATURDAY), but one is another American (I'm hoping Lexie Priessman) and I am HOPING for a Russian as well for the other. I want Kyla to dominate and win gold though, obvi. She is my favorite of the Fierce 5 and this is her quad to shine and I cannot wait to see it.

Well, off to work on my 3rd CET for probably 10 hours. Have a great week everyone!

** EDIT **

Kyla is injured :( I was so upset today when they announced it. I was so so excited to watch her. Katelyn Ohashi (whom I love) as well as Simone Biles will now be competing for the US (I believe Lexie is injured as well). I know that they will still make the US proud and I'm still excited for the first meet of the year, I've only been waiting 7 months!

TV Excitement Tuesday

I'm watching SO SO many shows right now and they are all so good!! If you are looking for anything good to watch, I suggest all of the following.

REVENGE
Sundays 9/8c

Revenge is without a doubt the BEST show on TV right now. I have been watching the show since it began back in 2011, mainly because I've loved Emily VanCamp for the past 11 years. I'm now totally in love with ALL of the cast and the show is just INCREDIBLE. Drama, scandal, suspense, family, and friendship all wrapped up in one show. The last few episodes have been the best yet.

Other than Emily, of course, my favorite actress in the show is Madeline Stowe. I've never seen her in anything else but she is seriously an amazing actress, she honestly makes me love and hate and feel sorry for her all in one episode! Not to mention she's incredibly gorgeous for her age. I also love Gabriel Mann. I've never seen another actor quite like him.

And the icing on the cake is Emily and Josh dating in real life. Like, honestly, what could be more perfect? That's what this show is! Perfection!

I always wonder why this show has not won any serious awards, but clearly it needs to.

THE BACHELOR
Mondays 8/7c

I absolutely have always loved The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor Pad. It's almost like a guilty pleasure. I know that the whole way the show works has obviously disproved it's ability to work seeing as only like 2 or 3 of the couples off like almost 20 seasons are actually married/together, however, it just doesn't matter to me. The dates are always so cool/extravagant and I always end up falling in love with at least one contestant a season. The first picture above is of Sean and supposedly who he is going to propose to (I read spoilers lol), Catherine. She is such a great girl and I think the two of them will definitely have a good shot at making it. The middle picture is the final 4 and the last one is the girl I wanted to win Desiree. I hope she is the next Bachelorette.

THE BIGGEST LOSER
Mondays 8/7c

This season of The Biggest Loser is one of the greatest ever. One of the exciting new things they did this season was bring 3 kids on the show! I think it's a great idea with the way that childhood obesity is on the rise today. Also, JILLIAN MICHAELS IS BACK! I'm so so so excited and now that they have her, Bob, and Dolvett as trainers this show is the best it's ever been. I love all of the contestants this year, but I'm rooting the most for Danni, a 25 year old.

SURVIVOR: CARMOAN ISLANDS
Wednesdays 8/7c

This is a fans vs. favorites year and only one episode in it is awesome so far!!! I love pretty much all of the favorites they chose to return. If you've never watched Survivor before, you totally should! It's only one episode into the season, so you can definitely catch up! This show will always be a must-watch for me.

GLEE
Thursdays 9/8c

To be honest, I'm not in love with this season of Glee for the first time in 4 seasons. I'm not a big fan of the high school story sides of it, I much prefer the stories following the characters who graduated last year. I'd never stop watching it though, mainly because of ...

Lea Michele, duh. I don't care if she only sang once every 4 episodes, I'd still watch. She inspires me every time she opens her mouth and sings. Also, there have been some good episodes this year, and they're covering great songs.

SMASH
Tuesdays 9/8c

Let's see .. Music. Anjelica Houston. Megan Hilty. Jennifer Hudson. && KATHARINE MCPHEE ONLY MY FAVORITE CONTESTANT OFF OF AMERICAN IDOL EVER. Can we find one reason why I would not watch this show?!

It is truly absolutely sensational! I need to still watch the Season 2 premiere, its DVRed but tonight is only the 2nd episode so I can catch up quick.

THE ENTIRE ID CHANNEL

Love every single show on this network basically, but my favorites are Redrum, Deadly Affairs, and 48 Hour Mystery.

If you're not watching any of these shows, you should totally consider it.

Miscellany Monday

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

A few miscellaneous thoughts from my Monday.

I honest to goodness, HATE Mondays.
I have classes from 8am (which I have to leave for at 6:30am) until 8pm. This is totally and completely my fault, and I did NOT make good decisions this semester. Today was the worst day ever since starting nursing clinicals. My cardiac exam pretty much dominated me, but luckily I still passed, plus we can drop the lowest grade. Then my next class was just a nightmare. How many more weeks left? Or at least how many more until Spring Break?

I AM SO OVER WINTER.
I'm so sick of snow, ice, cold, my car looking like crap because of the salt, short days, and no sunshine. I'm pretty much positive that I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Revenge is the best TV show on the face of the Earth.
I probably should not have watched it at like 12am when I had a test this morning, however, I couldn't stop myself. Last night's was just crazy insane. It bothered me that my girl (Emily VanCamp) was crying so much in it though, broke my heart! I can't wait 'til next week!

In a month from now I won't have a job.
I put in my notice at Olive Garden on Saturday. My last day there is March 9th. I'm going to apply for a job as a Student Nurse Intern at a nearby hospital. I already had submitted my resume to them and they called me the next day but they said I had to be going to school full time. Next semester I will be, so I'm going to apply again.

I can't believe I'm taking a summer class.
Just registered for it today. Hopefully I will pass my classes this semester so that I can actually take it. It's only one class but it is a HARD class so I'm going to be studying my summer away.

My new favorite quote ...
To be inspired is great, to inspire is incredible.

Hope everyone had a great Monday, so happy it is over.

Music's Biggest Night

I haven't watched the Grammy's in it's entirety since 2000 when Britney Spears lost Best New Artist to Christina Aguilera. I was very upset, clearly. Over the years, I've watched parts of it or not watched at all. I honestly am not a big fan of watching it because they don't show all the awards, in fact, they hardly show any, and I only enjoy a few of the performers most years. However, when Kelly Clarkson was nominated for 4 awards this year, I knew there was no way that I was going to miss it. Kelly won two Grammys for Breakaway/Since U Been Gone, but since then she has released 3 more amazing albums, and she is seriously one of my favorite singers in the whole world.

I am so glad that I watched it because ...
KELLY CLARKSON IS NOW THE ONLY ARTIST
TO WIN BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM TWICE!!

Stronger is the one of the most incredible albums I've ever ever heard. It is so deserving of that Grammy, and of the 4 she was nominated for, I'm glad that this was the one that she won. Her acceptance speech was so funny and cute. She shines so bright. This vid is bad quality but it's the first one up on Youtube.

Other wins that I was happy about: Carrie Underwood for Best Solo Country Performance and the writers of Blown Away for Best Country song, FUN. for Best New Artist, and Eye On It for Best Contemporary Christian Album!

I most enjoyed Kelly and Carrie's performances, as well as the Maroon 5/Alicia Keys duet, and Justin Timberlake is back!

Of course I loved seeing what everyone was wearing!!!

LOVED

DID NOT LOVE

& I thought these were cute/funny:

So, I suppose all in all it was the best Grammys I've seen in years. I guess I will keep watching until I get mad again or they have a really sucky year. Until next year, peace out Grammys!
