Oscar Night 2014

The Academy Awards were last night and it was a good show!
Usually awards shows always bore me at some point, but I pretty much enjoyed the entire thing. In fact, I did enjoy the entire thing except for the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio was robbed yet again and I really think Sandra should have won for Gravity. Here's some of my favorite parts of the night.

Idina singing Let It Go

Clearly. I totally called that she was going to be last up too, because she was the one everyone wanted to see the most. John Travolta is a freaking douche for mispronouncing her name. I know it's not the traditional name but you know who you're presenting before you go on and ADELE DAZEEM ... really?!? Glad Ellen corrected it in the end, but no matter, Idina still slayed it :) Love love her<3 So incredibly proud of my girl and can't wait to hopefully get to see her soon!

Getting to see this beautiful face every time Gravity won an award.

Every time Gravity won, they'd close up to Sandra. I'm so sad that she didn't win Best Actress, but I think that the number of awards Gravity won speaks for itself in that it was an incredible project and I'm very happy that she has another massively successful film to add to her credit. She has come so far since I first saw her in Speed in 1996 and I'm so proud of her.

This moment and Ellen in general.

The Academy needs to book Ellen for like the next 40 years. She was the best host of any awards show I've seen EVER. She's so funny and the difference between her and other hosts is she doesn't even have to TRY it just comes naturally. Other people are all awkward. I wasn't bored once.

Lupita Nyong'o winning Best Supporting Actress

She was just so humble and SO CLASSY. I loved her speech and I'm so glad that she won.

Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez winning Best Original Song for Let It Go

This song is incredible and deserving of the win. I also loved their little rehearsed acceptance speech. I also am happy for Idina because she is the one who brought the song to life on the screen and made people fall in love with it.

Frozen winning Best Animated Feature Film

YAYYY! I was so excited and this film is so deserving. I saw it in the theater 3 times and I already have the Blu Ray pre-ordered :)

Kate Hudson

I love Kate Hudson and she looked stunning last night :)

The fact that Julia and Meryl are besties.

This isn't from last night, I couldn't find one of them together yet but honestly I just can't with them they are so adorable!!! Love them both and I need to see August Osage County immediately.

Hope you all had fun watching the Awards!

  1. John Travolta is never going to live that down ... I mean, seriously, could he have botched it up any more? Loved her performance, though!
